Porsche on tehnyt päätöksen palata juurilleen Le Mans 2014 kilpailuun. Porschen slogan Le Mans paluulle on MISSION 2014, jolle on avattu oma sivusto. Samalla Porsche julkaisi uuden 2013 Porsche 911 RSR:n (type 991), joka debytoi Silverstonessa huhtikuun 12. – 14. World Endurance Championship -kisassa. Alla Porsche muistelee sen legendaarisinta Le Mans autoa eli 917:ää vuodelta 1971:
