The Audi Sport quattro laserlight concept car

Dynamic design, immense power and new electronic features: Audi is presenting a fascinating technology concept car at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) from January 6 to 10, 2014 in Las Vegas, USA. The Audi Sport quattro laserlight concept is reminiscent of the classic Sport quattro of 1983 while pointing towards the future – with the latest of the brand’s technologies in plug-in hybrid drives, user control and display interfaces and lighting technology.

“The new show car demonstrates technical ‘Vorsprung’ on many levels,” says Prof. Dr. Ulrich Hackenberg. “On-board this car we have e-tron technology with 515 kW of power and 2.5 l/100 km (94.09 US mpg) fuel economy; laser headlights that leave all previous systems in the dark with its higher performance as well as new display and operating systems with cutting-edge electronic performance. We are showing the future of Audi here.”

One thing is for sure, the Audi RS6 is the hottest and best looking station wagon on the market today. It’s one of those rare cars that looks brilliant in photos and live. Even our test car’s slightly boring wheels cannot make it look bad. Our car was white and fitted with the black optic option. It was fitted with 21-inch PQ4 black summer wheels and they would complement the color scheme perfectly. Winter conditions, however, forced our car to be equipped with studded tires and optically narrow 20-inch wheels that go far beneath the fender. Yes, in this car 20-inch wheels look like 17-inch. The test car’s LED headlights in addition to the 6 cm wider body of the RS6 in comparison to the standard A6, look magnificent live, giving it an aggressive, modern, and sporty look. In any case, the design of the Audi gets a full ten points, and it proves that spacious cars do not have to be horrific boxes.

The all-new C-Class heralds a new chapter in the Mercedes-Benz success story and sets new standards in the premium mid‑range class. Thanks to an intelligent lightweight design concept boasting weight savings of up to 100 kilograms, excellent aerodynamics and new, economical engines, the C-Class establishes new benchmarks in its class. A host of new assistance systems offer safety of the highest standard, while a new suspension, optionally air-sprung, provides for exemplary ride and driving comfort as well as nimble and agile handling. In terms of appearance the new C-Class adopts a progressive approach with its clear yet emotional design and its high-class interior. Many other innovations and interior touches underscore the saloon’s energising comfort and refined sportiness. In all, the perceived quality of the new C‑Class feels like an “upgrade to a higher class of travel”. The new C-Class Saloon is available for ordering now. The model range will initially comprise the C 180 from 33,558.- euros, the C 200 from 36,414.- euros and the C 220 BlueTEC from 38,675.- euros, (prices in Germany incl. 19% VAT in each case).
